Husband and wife team Andy & Alison met whilst at university in Birmingham during the early 1990’s. We lived in various houses in Selly Oak as students ourselves in the days when everyone shared one bathroom tagged on behind the kitchen! We still live close to the area and have watched it change and develop over the years. Andy’s background in building surveying and the construction industry led to him starting his own business specialising in extensions and loft conversions. This proved useful when we became landlords in the late 90’s. It also means we can respond quickly to maintenance issues as we have a large list of highly qualified subcontractors as well as skilled professional direct staff. Alison’s studies in history and heritage may not be as practical but her love of the built environment and design skills are put to good use.
As parents of teenagers, we have a good understanding of the needs and abilities of young people today. We are always available should there be an emergency, for example when one tenant locked herself out on Christmas
morning, Andy was there with a spare key within half an hour! The group WhatsApp is also useful for tenants to keep in touch with each other and Andy and Alison, and we will always respond quickly for urgent issues. It is worth
noting as we are the owners you can deal directly with us rather than through an agent.
Approachable & Professional
We are accredited by MLAS, the Midland Landlord Accreditation Scheme, are members of the NLA, the National Landlords Association and have been licensed under Birmingham City Council Houses in Multiple Occupation since 2004. All of the deposits are protected and registered with https://mydeposits.co.uk.
We currently have two houses in Selly Oak, on North Road and Heeley Road and aim to provide good quality accommodation within easy access of Birmingham University. Both houses have been recently refurbished and have
6 ensuite rooms and kitchen living space. Safety is high on our agenda and both houses have the appropriate tests and certificates. We include carbon monoxide detectors although this is not yet a statutory requirement. The doors
have a unique locking system where your key unlocks your door and the front door but no one else’s door. There are security lights where needed and mains smoke detectors and emergency lighting and all doors leading to the escape
routes are fire doors. We want our houses to be safe and comfortable and where we would be happy for our children to live.
